Pacific Crest Equine offers both elective and 24-emergency surgery with our board-certified surgeon. We provide both general and specialized surgical services for major and minor cases, elective and emergency, and inpatient and outpatient procedures.

The ultimate goal of our veterinary team and surgical service is to provide our patients with superior peri-operative care. We have experience with all breeds and disciplines and expertise in all areas of surgery, from soft tissue to orthopedic procedures.

Our state-of-the-art surgical suite includes a hydraulic surgery table and overhead patient hoist system. Horses are induced and recovered from general anesthesia with a padded helmet in a large padded quiet recovery stall under direct observation.

Our anesthetic staff employs only the safest and superior anesthetic techniques with a gas anesthesia machine, mechanical ventilator, and advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment including electrocardiography (EKG), direct blood pressure monitoring and support, blood gas analyses, oxygen saturation, carbon dioxide monitoring, and other intensive methods.

We place great emphasis on patient comfort by implementing peri-operative pain management techniques including constant rate infusions, epidural, intrarticular, and perineural analgesia.

We work closely with other medical professionals in order to strengthen our surgery service including board-certified internal medicine veterinarians, equine reproductive experts, skilled equine podiatrists, as well as human echocardiologists and ophthalmologists.

We pride ourselves on our 24-hour veterinary care with a veterinarian on-site 24-hours a day and sophisticated television monitoring equipment. Collectively, our veterinarians, skilled support, office, and barn staff allow us to ensure Compassionate Care and Exceptional Medicine from admission to well after discharge of your horse.
